Our Coconut chips are prepared by slicing the meat of mature coconut into 0.6-0.7 mm thickness, which is then dipped in osmotic medium like honey, and dried, in oven for half an hour. In most cities like Onitsha, Enugu, Owerri and Abakiliki etc this snack is a hot seller and hunger quencher. You can hardly lose money if you invest in coconut chips.

Packaging Nylon

3.2 Processing Method Patterns:
De-Husking: This is carried out to remove the husk of the coconuts
De-Shelling: In this process, the shell is removed without breaking the kernel
Paring: This is done to remove the brown skin of the kernel in order to get coconut meat. This is normally carried out using a machine. Utmost care is required for removing the shell alone, without affecting the meat.
Washing: The coconuts are washed using clean water
Dewatering: The coconuts are dehydrated using a dehydration machine
Slicing: The coconuts are sliced into very thin slices of 0.6-0.7mm thickness. This is done with the aid of a slicing machine.
Mixing: This process involves mixing the coconuts thoroughly with honey and cinnamon, using a mixing vessel.
Oven Baking: The mixed coconut chips are baked at a temperature of 80-90 Degrees Celsius for up to an hour. In order to avoid sticking to the pan, the coconut chips are gently rotated during the process of baking for about 1 hour, until chips get evenly brown or golden color.
